The cryptocurrency investment sector has undergone extensive development in recent months, leaving an education gap in the fintech sector, but that gap will soon be closed with the launch of Bitcoin Trader’s inaugural cryptocurrency symposium: Decrypted 2018.
As for any asset class, there are various pitfalls that may catch out the unwary, and every day more and more people are trying to find new ways to capitalise on Bitcoin and a growing list of ‘alt-coins’.
For this reason, on Thursday May 10 this year Bitcoin Trader will stage Australia’s best opportunity to-date for learning about this exciting new asset class, with help from a selection of the foremost experts in the sector.
Hosted by Bitcoin Trader CEO Nathan van den Bosch, Decrypted 2018 is the first in a series of quarterly events aimed at educating finance professionals; including wealth advisers, traders, financial planners, accountants, auditors, and superannuation specialists.
“The symposium will offer a host of networking opportunities in this very new and exciting fintech space,” Mr van den Bosch said.
“It’s about providing clear and simple guidance to those who are interested in investing in cryptocurrencies. This will include information about tax implications, AML and SIS Act compliance, secure storage, self-managed super funds, the underlying Blockchain technology, and ultimately, how to use cryptocurrencies as a method of making everyday payments.”
Mr van den Bosch said that Decrypted 2018 will be a new forum for understanding the world of investment in cryptocurrency.
“Our aim is to simplify, and importantly, demystify what sometimes appears to be a complex and sophisticated industry,” he said.
“Decrypted also presents a unique opportunity to clarify the processes of regulatory compliance that are now required to participate in investment in this asset class.
“That’s our goal in hosting this conference.”
Mr van den Bosch will speak publically on the Bitcoin Trader business model. Other guest speakers at Decrypted 2018 include:
- Nick Giuretto | CEO and Managing Director, Australian Digital Commerce Association (ADCA)| The new age of digital commerce
- Jonathon Miller | Managing Director, Bit Trade Australia| Developments in blockchain technology
- Nick Falzon | Taxation expert and Director, PKF Sydney & Newcastle| Taxation of cryptocurrency investments
- Aub Chapman | Director, Aub Chapman Consulting Services | AML Regulation and cryptocurrency
- Daniel Alexiuc | CEO, Living Room of Satoshi| Cryptocurrency in daily life
- Katherine Arthy | Business Development Manager, Guardian Vaults| Security of cryptocurrency assets
- David Hendriksen | SMSF specialist and Director, PKF Sydney and Newcastle | SMSF issues in the cryptocurrency space
Bitcoin Trader partner manager Warrick Pleash said this event would be the first of its kind in Australia.
“We’ve invited some of the foremost experts from Australia and abroad to give their perspective on how to make long-term investments in this field,” he said.
“Future generations will look back on this time as the focal point of a paradigm shift, bringing us into a new world of internet money.
“It’s such an exciting experience and a privilege to be part of the explosive growth and potential of this amazing new financial sector.”
The Decrypted symposium will be held at the Sydney Four Seasons Hotel ballroom, a proven favourite for corporate events, which now boasts a 12-metre long, 4k screen for presentations. With staff who are well-experienced in the hosting of high-end industry and corporate functions, full catering will ensure that no one goes hungry during what will prove to be a stimulating and educational event.
Attendance at Decrypted 2018 comes at a cost of $695 per head, representing great value for the best way to bring yourself up to speed in Australia’s fast-moving cryptocurrency investment marketplace.
